All golf cover comics known to me are now pictured on this site
(I am starting to add an approximate value for each comic book at the end of each listing)

I hope this site peaks your interest in this category of golf collectibles.  Thank you for stopping and spending some time.  Enjoy looking over this site and please contact me if you have questions or come across a golf cover comic not on the list.

Any collector can choose what they want to put into their collection.  That is what is so unique about the collecting world.  A collector can easily get carried away, though,  and lose sight of a collecting direction.  That is why it is best to start with a direction for your collection and stick to set boundaries.  The collecting of Golf Cover Comic Books fits into this category very well.  One could choose to collect comic books that have a golf story within the pages, some reference to golf on the back cover, a reference to golf on the front cover, or foreign comic books.  I set my direction and made boundaries by including only comic books published in the USA (with a small exception) with some reference to golf just on the front cover.  This golf reference could include an actual golf swing, golf equipment, a picture of a golfer, the word golf, or just making the action of a golf swing.

What is the Official title of a comic book and where is it found?

I make great use of the Official Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide for the official title of the comic book, information on writers, appearance by a character, and value. So, in trying to find your copy on the examples pages or in the listing, please remember that I use the "official title" as listed in the indicia (publication data).  This information is found on the inside cover or on the first page at the bottom.  The "official title" is determined by those words of the title listed in capital letters only.  The title on the cover is not always the "official title".  A good example of this is the Casper comics.  The early editions are "The Friendly Ghost Casper", then "Casper, The Friendly Ghost" and finally "Casper The Friendly Ghost".

What goes into figuring the value of a comic book?

There are many categories used in determining the final value of a comic book.  Listed are some, in no particular order.

**  1st appearance of the comic book character (such as Superman or Batman)
    **  Story author(s)
    **  Artist(s)
    **  Who colored the comic
    **  Age
    **  Numbers of copies printed
**  Special category of collecting, such as 1st issue of every run or being a Golf Cover comic book
**  Condition is the final BIG determinant after all of the above has set a base price
